What is Racism?
By Qiao Wen Xie

What is racism?
Racism is the belief that a particular race is better than another. What are examples of racism? Name calling, get beat up because of your race, have poor jobs. Racism is an issue for us because AIWA and YBIP work with people of color, and most people of color face racism in this community. For Asian immigrants, they are both people of color and limited English speakers. Asian immigrant youth experience racism a lots of times in school, people make fun of them and sometimes beat them up is juz because they are not the same race as the others.
